Birria Meat
- 2 lbs Beef shank or brisket For slow cooking with spices.
- 2 tbsp Olive oil Extra virgin, for searing meat.
- 1 tbsp Chili powder
- 1 tbsp Oregano
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 4 cups Beef broth To simmer the meat.
Pizza Base
- 3 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Active dry yeast
- 1 cup Warm water
- 1 tbsp Olive oil Extra virgin, for dough preparation.
Toppings
- 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup Sliced red onions
- ¼ cup Chopped cilantro
- ¼ cup Sliced jalapeños
Step 1: Prepare the Birria Meat
Marinate the meat with chili powder, oregano, and cumin.
Heat olive oil in a pressure cooker or pot, sear the meat, and add broth.
Slow-cook for 2-3 hours (or 1 hour in a pressure cooker) until tender.
Step 2: Make the Pizza Dough
Mix flour, yeast, warm water, and olive oil in a mixing bowl.
Knead the dough until smooth and let it rest for 1 hour to rise.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
Roll out the dough using a rolling pin and transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
